Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre

This world class Convention and Exhibition Centre has a total of 70,000 sq m of exhibition space in a 222,000 sq m facility.

It was recognised in 2004 that in order for Hong Kong to meet the on-going needs of the industry and successfully compete with emerging centres, the exhibition space should be expanded to provide additional quality, downtown space.

AEG Ogden was part of the consultant group selected by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council to undertake a study on the impact of the second expansion to accommodate an increasing number and size of exhibitions at the Centre. The ability of the Centre to compete with new developments in mainland China and Macao and the impact on other venues in Hong Kong such as Asia World Expo was also assessed.

Following a detailed review of events and discussions with all stakeholders, it was recommended that the development proceed. The second expansion opened to extraordinary success in 2009.
