Beijing Olympic Venues
AEG Ogden has provided consulting services for a number of Beijing 2008 Olympic venues, in addition to the management contract for the Beijing Olympic Basketball Arena. This includes:
- Beijing National Stadium
Commonly referred to as the “Birds Nest” the 80,000 seat stadium has been designed as the centrepiece for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. AEG Ogden provided a comprehensive review of the design from the perspective of an operator, highlighting a number of issues that could impact areas such as security and safety, patron amenity, commercial opportunities and operating costs.
- Beijing National Swimming Centre
The “Water Cube” is the iconic aquatic centre developed for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. AEG Ogden, with China National Sports Group (CNSG), was engaged by Beijing State Owned Asset Management Company to provide a Post-Games Operations Plan. This included an assessment of the potential usage of the centre for training at all levels, classes, including learn to swim and aqua aerobics, school use, carnivals and other events, as well as recreation and leisure usage.
- China National Convention Centre
AEG Ogden Executive Director was engaged on the assessment panel for the tender process for the China National Convention Centre Project, providing a review of the tenders from an operational perspective.
